Introduction:

This was my second linux project - written partly as a learning experience, and partly in an effort to create something with "cool" appeal, suitable for showing off the flexibility of Linux. It uses the Lirc infra-red receiver system to provide an animated on-screen menu, which can be used to launch applications or scrips.

Like irmix, animenu will use the Xft extension, if present, to add a nice translucency effect.

UPDATE - 16/01/2003
Version 0.3.0 is now available.  This version is able to build a menu at runtime by pattern-matching file from a directory. This allows, for example, a menu of MP3 files to be generated automatically.
